Our machining division includes multiple departments such as, conventional CNC lathes, CNC milling cells, Swiss auto lathes and screw machines, sheet metal and fabrication, and welding.

This Machinist position operates multiple moderately complex machines for production parts and basic fabrication tasks within assigned area under minimal supervision.

Works with established instructions and support from the Unit Specialist or trainer.

The position is responsible for set-up, operation and troubleshooting various manual/CNC machines, secondary machinery and polish equipment.

Responsibilities: Operates various secondary, manual machinery, CNC Machinery and performs activities within assigned area with moderate supervision: BridgeportSingle Turret CNC LathesVertical CNC MillsCNC BrakesCNC Punch PressPerforms routine maintenance, including lubrication and cleaning.Safely and efficiently routes parts using material handling equipment.Inspects personal production, to achieve and maintain quality standards and may make recommendations for improvement.Actively engages and participates in department continuous improvement efforts.

Implements improvements to processes, programs, tooling, and fixturing.Works collaboratively within the team to maintain a neat and organized work station.Achieves and maintains productivity standards, follows all safety guidelines, and maintains acceptable dependability level.Understands and completes documentation needed to comply with policies and procedures that are appropriate for the positionFollows safety guidelines, must not pose a risk to self or others, identifies potential safety hazards and initiates corrective action when necessary.Actively participates in all department, quarterly, and company meetings.Other duties as assigned (refer to the job family and skills matrix).

Qualifications: Generally requires a minimum of 1-3 years machine operation experience and knowledge of simple to moderate fabrication tasks within area assigned, problem solving, set-up, operation, and troubleshooting or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.Must be able to read, write and communicate in English with demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions and troubleshoot problems when necessary.

Actively participate in a pass down communication to other shift peers and leadership.Must be able to fulfill the minimum qualifications of Machine Operator I and II.Demonstrated ability to effectively inspect assigned work using precision measuring equipment; micrometers, bore gages, manual or video comparators, CMM, or special equipment as required allowing for mobility within the department.Demonstrates the ability to manage time and resources effectively.Demonstrates behaviors and attitudes that emphasize and focus on permanent resolutions to problems and collaboratively work with other employees within work group to achieve goals.Ability to interpret blueprints with a working knowledge of GDContinuous improvement skills for basic production and fabrication, including manual lathes, mills, and CNC machining centers (see color matrix).Demonstrated understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.Knowledge of ISO procedures.Ability to perform math calculations with an understanding of decimal/fraction equivalence, geometry, and trigonometry.Knowledge of all tooling and material types used during production, including uncommon and unconventional tools, with the ability to alter tools to achieve desired results.Moderate computer skills and ability to learn and understand ERP systems.A background check and screen for the illegal use of drugs is required.A-dec is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
