Scope of Position: Auger Fabrication, a top supplier in accessories, and parts for filling machines, is seeking a Machinist to operate manual machines to cut and produce these precision parts.Principal Responsibilities:Review samples, blueprints, drawings, or instructions to understand specifications of output.Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping.Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job.Select appropriate machines and position or load material for a job.Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify any issues.Determine and program size of batches and speed of machine.Monitor output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects.Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.Perform other related duties as assigned.
Competencies:Great verbal and written communication skills.Excellent manual dexterity, accuracy, and attention to detail.Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals.Knowledge of metal properties and other material.Mechanical aptitude and good math skills.Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items.Detail oriented and results driven.
Work Environment:This job takes place within a clean, well lit, ventilated and air-conditioned manufacturing facility.
Subject to noise from machinery.
Regularly exposed to hazardous situations and equipment, such as high-speed machines.
Regularly exposed to loud noise from machines used.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position.
Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
