OverviewThe LVN will assist the RN with nursing assessment of each patient by collecting data, and direct patient care under the supervision of the RN according to departmental and hospital policies and procedures.Responsibilities* Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing intervention, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.* Identifies patient care problems and communicates them to RN.* Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care.* Follows the hospital exposure control plans/blood borne and airborne pathogens.* Performs all responsibilities/duties required by the float LVN position in the division specific to the scope of service.* Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.Qualifications* Graduate of an accredited LVN program.* Pursues program of continuing education consistent with requirements of California license Board.* Maintain knowledge and skills related to Geriatric and ventilator dependent population* Minimum 6 months experience within the last 2 years in general acute care, long term care and completion of ventilator education program with demonstrated competency and computer skills.* Basic computer knowledge is preferred* Current LVN license in State of California* Current BLS card* IV CertifiedHospital DescriptionGreater El Monte Community Hospital, AHMC is dedicated to developing alternative methods of care for patients with complex medical needs.
