The Center is one of a handful of Federally Qualified Health Centers in the nation specializing in serving LGBTQ people.JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Program Coordinator will coordinate, schedule, and conduct activities and community events to specifically target young queer, gay and bisexual men of color; Promote and provide referrals to STD/HIV counseling and testing; Coordinate activities that will lead to linkage to medical care for HIV-positive and PrEP eligible patients at Center South or any of the Center’s health centers; and assist with preparing reporting for community outreach, engagement, and marketing activities conducted under Lit Life – a HIV-prevention project funded under CDC program PS17-1704.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:1) Coordinates, schedules and conducts behavioral health intervention activities and engagement that are funded through CDC that help reduce the incidence of HIV rates among young queer, gay and bisexual men who have sex with men of color; 2) In partnership with the Outreach Coordinator, oversees the development and directly implements community outreach and engagement activities to recruit into Center South services and programs; 3) Keep monthly calendar to coordinate, schedule and conduct activities at locations such as bars, bath houses and sex parties where queer, gay, and bisexual men of color congregate to assess individual risk behaviors; 4) Develop and maintain a working relationship with other community-based organizations and business owners where outreach, workshop, and support group activities can be conducted; 5) Monitor and report program goals and objectives; 6) Coordinates and tracks budget planning and spending for program activities and engagement events; 7) Assist with preparation of monthly quantitative and qualitative reports; 8) Participate in community advisory board meetings, public task force and HIV planning meetings as necessary; 9) Collaborate withlocal agencies that conduct HIV risk reduction programs targeting queer, gay and bisexual men, and transgender women of color who are at highest risk; 10) Must be innovative and a self-starter that is able to work in a constantly changing and fast-paced environment; 11) Must be available to work some late evenings and weekends; 12) Other duties asassigned.JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:1) Knowledge of and experience working with the LGBTQ community and familiarity with issues of particular relevance to LGBTQ people; 2) A passion for the Center’s work and its mission to make the world a better place for LGBTQ people; 3) Successful experience with coordinating behavioral health intervention programs, including outreach, community organizing, and/or project management, a plus; 4) Experience working in an administrative capacity (in non-profit organization/medical setting preferred); 5) County certifiedHIV Test Counselor Certification and Many Men, Many Voices (3MV) facilitator certification or willingness to obtain certifications within 60 days of hire; 6) Excellent verbaland written communication skills, including strong organizational, detail and interpersonal skills; 7) Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment; 8) Ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects; 9) Computer skills including word processing and other software systems preferred; 10) Bilingual skills, a plus (English/Spanish fluency preferred); 11) Demonstrated ability to work effectively with people of diverse races, ethnicities, nationalities, sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expression, socio-economic backgrounds, religions, ages, English-speaking abilities, immigration status, and physical abilities in a multicultural environment.The Los Angeles LGBT Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer and is committed to fostering diversity within its staff.
