Lead Release Engineer

Duties: Facilitate regular software release planning and approval across all Information Technology (IT) and Product Management Office (PMO) areas to coordinate software release content and effort, monitoring the service request backlog, pending service request, application requests and operating system updates.

Monitor progress of all software application projects, ensuring roles have been properly filled, technological requirements adhered to and that project schedule/timeline is maintained.

Monitor and manage risks and resolve software issues that affect application release scope, schedule and quality.

Ensure software application release process is adhered to, providing reports, feedback and continuous recommendations for improving the process of releases.

Measure and monitor progress of software application releases to ensure applications are released on time, delivered within budget and function according to expectations.

Prepare implementation plan and provide insight into patterns of reported software application defects to determine common root cause and offer options for resolution.

Determine and apply appropriate metrics to measure the integrity of each software application release.

SCHEDULE: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday LOCATION: Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, 3985 Stirrup Street, East Lansing, MI 48823 REQUIREMENTS: At least a Bachelors degree in Computer and Information Sciences, Software Engineering or closely related field of study and seven (7) years experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst, Project Manager, DevOps Engineer, Software Developer, Software Engineer or closely related occupation.

Alternate Requirement: In lieu of a Bachelors degree in stated fields and seven (7) years stated experience, will accept a Masters degree in stated fields and three (3) years stated experience.

Special Skills: Also requires experience in the following: 3 years experience with DevOps Release Automation using tools and technologies including Jenkins, Ansible, Grafana, Nexus, Ant, Cherwell, Gradle, RedHat Linux, GitLab, or TFS and AZURE Devops; 3 years IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) configuration; 3 years software Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) process and workflows; and 3 years software release management.
