Lawyer

Leibovic Law Group, LLP , the in-house law firm for Health Advocates , is seeking two entry level Attorneys. This position will be based out of our main office Chatsworth, CA . Leibovic Law Group, LLP provides legal guidance and representation before an Administrative Law Judge (ALJ) and/or Federal courts.

Job Summary

Evaluate SSI/SSDI case referrals and/or claim denials to determine whether or not the denied claim can be overturned and represent claimants at the hearings before the Administrative Law Judge. Job responsibilities: reviews new and open cases during application, reconsideration and hearing level to determine merit of the case and implement case development and strategy, prepares the client and case for hearing, represents claimants before an Administrative Law Judge on Supplemental Security Income (SSI)/Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) claims, prepares post-hearing briefs, letter requests for On the Record (OTR) decision, dire need letters, responses to Consultative Examination (CE) reports and other written submissions required by Social Security Administration (SSA), and perform miscellaneous related duties, as needed .

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctorate Degree
  • Admission to a State bar required
  • 0-2 years of experience as a licensed attorney
  • Direct experience in social service counseling and/or legal representation helpful
  • Willing and able to travel occasionally
  • Able to handle a high volume of cases on a daily basis
  • Possess and maintain a valid California Driver’s License
  • Dependable vehicle with auto insurance coverage
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must type at least 40 wpm

Position Type: Full-time; Exempt

Salary: Competitive

Schedule:  Alternative Work Week Schedule:  Mon-Thur 7:30 am-5:00 pm & Fri 7:30 am-12:30 pm.  

Other: We conduct assessment testing and post offer background checks. Candidates must submit one writing sample that is no greater than 10-15 pages.
