Laboratory Assistant II FT Evenings BMC

$2500 SIGN ON BONUS for experienced Clinical Laboratory Assistant II – Phlebotomist Job Summary The Clinical Laboratory Assistant II – Phlebotomist performs routine technical and clerical functions to include specimen registration and billing.

The CLA II performs venipuncture
– capillary puncture as assigned; labels tubes and specimen containers, specimen receipt and distribution of laboratory specimens.

The lab assistant II
– phlebotomist performs CLIA waived laboratory tests as requested.

Will assist in microbiology processing and plating specimens, as requested and completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period.

MINIMUM EDUCATION : High School Graduate or equivalent.

PREFERRED EDUCATION : Completion of a Phlebotomy program MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : One year of clinical laboratory experience and/or completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Basic laboratory computer/lab information system experience preferred.

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Completion of formal phlebotomy training program and/or national phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ANP, ASPT or similar.
