Los Angeles Metropolitan Area Knight Insurance Group is looking for an individual who demonstrates attention to detail to evaluate risk, estimate losses, and assists in the quantitative review of Knight’s rates across various programs.
We are looking to add team members who have a strong desire to grow personally and professionally and the individual should be self-motivated, organized, and have great quantitative skills.
This position requires the candidate to review pricing algorithms, understand key underwriting metrics, engage with, identify with the risk team and external actuaries to assist in quantifying Knight’s reserve adequacy.
The candidate will need to understand various actuarial methods to estimate loss and be able to use industry data to make projections on lifetime loss.
RESPONSIBILITIES:Studying statistical data for the purpose of creating an analysisCreating estimates of probability and likely costs for a given event such as death, natural disaster, or sickness.Calculating how insurance policies for different types of coverage are likely to payoutGenerating charts and presenting them at meetings along with explaining the informationAnalyzing reports to determine next steps for the company or clientPreparing actuarial proposals for management and business partnersDeveloping recommendation on rates and rating plan to satisfy the financial objectives of the organization REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, statistics, or some other analytical field.Knowledge of statistics, probability, and calculusStrong written and verbal communication skills to clearly relay information to other employees at the company or the clientAnalytical skills to determine specifics of insurance policies and avoid any errors that would lead to negative consequencesExperience with computers and statistical modeling softwareKnowledge of business and financial conceptsOrganizational skills to keep track of multiple projects or cases at a time
