IT Business Analyst consults and partners with business and IT to implement business process changes for AECOM.
Supports the System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) for projects impacting various business units and functional areas within AECOM.
Performs the full range of business analysis tasks including process mapping, requirements definition, solution validation, organizing user testing, and end user training.
Responsible for understanding impact of projects and system changes on business processes and working with business resources to facilitate a smooth transition.
Works with Project Manager to ensure high quality delivery within time, cost, and quality parameters.Responsibilities:* Documents functional and non-functional system requirements; develops test cases and step-by-step test procedures for enterprise-scale projects* Works closely with business managers, demand managers and end users to understand their processes and procedures* Identifies new innovative solutions to optimize business processes, reduce costs, and/or enhance the customer experience* Works with the business and IT to gather and document business case, scope and requirements for technology initiatives* Performs current state and future state process mapping and conducts gap analysis, requirements mapping, system demos, test planning, oversight of user testing, and end user training* Prepares project documentation including requirements documentation, test plans and scripts/use cases, process maps, wireframes, user training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), user communications, and change control documentation* Ensures compliance of projects/solutions with key AECOM controls (e.g., Sarbanes Oxley)* Assists with defining the support model for new systems and facilitates transition of the new system from project resources to operational support resources* Assesses impact of projects/systems on business processes and facilitates a smooth transition of system and process changes to ensure minimal business disruption* May participate in evaluation and selection of vendors/solutions including management of proposal/RFP process* Assists with development of various management/executive presentations to present process improvement solutions, business case, and project progress.* Gather and translate business requirements into product backlog User Stories.
Create and maintain business requirements in the form of user stories with appropriate acceptance criteria.* Collaborate with the Project Manager, Product Owner(s), Project Team, ScrumMaster (where applicable) and/or Business Stakeholders to confirm/understand clear business objectives, processes, and metrics for input into User Story definition and prioritization.* Facilitate User Story mapping sessions with Business Stakeholders, as needed.* Facilitate and schedule project or scrum meetings, as needed.* Facilitate collaborative team discussions via project communication channels for a distributed team (e.g.
Microsoft Teams).* Train end users on new application features, as needed.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities* Strong analytical, problem solving, and technical skills* Strategic thinker with the ability to recognize, analyze, and recommend solutions to system, analytical and interpersonal problems throughout the SDLC* Strong planning, organizing, and coordinating skills* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate technical issues to non-technical individuals* Solid facilitation skills with business and technical participants* Strong time management skills* Ability to easily adapt to a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment* Effective speaking and meeting facilitation skills* Well-rounded technical experience with solid understanding of common technologies and solutions, both infrastructure and applications* Applications/software project experience, including requirements and testing for custom cloud-based and mobile application software development or configuration of off-the-shelf solutions* Business Analyst experience working on projects using Agile/Scrum, Strong Requirements and Testing experience including process mapping, requirements definition, testing documentation, IT testing, coordination of user testing, and training* Proficient in using full Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, Agile methodology, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Jira, Confluence and ArcherLevel specific responsibilities:* Works under minimal supervision.* Has system-wide responsibility on complex projects and components.* Provides significant support and direction for project activities.* Solves medium to highly technical, complex problems on multiple projects, and provides consultative support to internal staff.* Assists with the transfer of knowledge of technical skills.* Project size could range from medium to high complexity Viewed as a subject matter expert within the organization.* Acts as a mentor to less senior IT staff.Minimum RequirementsBA/BS plus 6 years of relevant experience in Business, Requirements, Problem Solving or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationPreferred Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science* BA certification* CSM* PowerBI, Oracle experience* Archer administration expertiseOther:Sponsorship for US work Authorization is not available for this position.What We OfferWhen you join AECOM, you become part of a company that is pioneering the future.
