IP Docketing Coordinator

law firm serving clients across the Americas, is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Docketing Coordinator to provide timely and effective docketing and administrative support to the Intellectual Property Group. The location for this position is flexible. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Docketing IP prosecution deadlines and assisting with docketing tasks such as updating the docketing software with new deadlines for US and foreign cases, printing daily reports and monitoring deadlines, gathering docket responses from the group and updating the firm’s database, setting up new clients and matters in the database, conducting trademark and patent status checks on the US Patent and Trademark Office and various foreign agency websites Preparing IP docket status reports Assisting attorneys, paralegals and staff with special projects as assigned
Required Skills Include:
Comfortable and efficient with managing docketing software and/or database applications Comfortable and efficient at calculating dates Working knowledge of US and International patent and trademark prosecution processes and their associated rules and procedures Analytical reasoning skills and ability to interpret rules and instructions accurately Excellent organizational and follow-up skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Ability to prioritize, multitask and pay close attention to details Ability to work independently or as part of a team Ability to easily shift tasks to rebalance work within a fast-paced environment Proficient with MS Office applications 6+ years intellectual property experience in a law firm or legal services environment Prior IP docketing experience preferred Prior IP docketing experience with CPi preferred
