Job Title: Investigative Attorney
Salary: Depending on experience
Type of Position: Full time
Hours: M-F 9-5 pm and flexible
Job Description:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Review and evaluate liability and insurance availability for the firm’s big injury and catastrophic injury cases
- Conduct investigations – collect and analyze evidence in order to determine all potential claims and liability, potential defendants, and insurance coverages
- Hire outside investigators to take recorded statements and/or do specialized investigation
- Conduct research
- Investigate facts of loss and research application of case law
- Analyze, manage, and review evidence to assess liability and determine case plan
- Analyze SWITRS data
- Run background searches on defendants (and social media searches)
- Obtain ownership information for vehicles, properties, and businesses
- Draft correspondence as needed (i.e., insurance letters, PRA requests and draft complaints)
Requirements:
- Must be an attorney
- Must be comfortable with discussing cases with experts
- Must be creative and flexible
- Must work well with others and have strong communication skills
- Must work well under pressure
- Must communicate well in writing with attention to detail
