Inventory Control Counter

SUMMARY

This position is responsible for recording, tracking, and entering inventory movement information into the ERP system and working with Supervisors and Department Managers to resolve issues and discrepancies. Also responsible for understanding and participating in the cycle count process as well as the physical inventories.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Controls inventory accuracy of ingredients, product, material, and supplies by participating in physical inventories and maintaining/documenting inventory records.
  • Posts ITR’s (inventory transaction records) on a daily basis.
  • Follows up with the Department Managers as necessary to resolve issues relating to discrepancies in ITR’s and escalates major issues to Plant Controller if necessary.
  • Identifies and advises of root causes of inventory discrepancies, as well as corrective actions to Department Manager(s).
  • Prepares various reports relating to inventory movement and usage, and provides commentary relating to any issues identified
  • Coordinates and participates in company physical inventories.
  • Assists in performing cycle counts and preparing associated reports as necessary.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma, or equivalent, 2-3 years of experience in an Inventory Control role. Associate degree in Business Administration or another related field preferred.

  • Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook a must.
  • Extremely organized. Strong multi-tasking and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills – Ability to write, speak and interact clearly and professionally.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem-solving skills
  • Detailed oriented with strong analytical skills a must.
  • Ability to function under stressful conditions and interact cordially with co-workers.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Maintains professionalism and a positive service attitude at all times.
