– Los Angeles, Orange County, West Covina marketWe have an outstanding opportunity for an Industrial Engineer OR Manufacturing Engineer with a Top Tier Manufacturer of Commercial Equipment designing and manufacturing high quality, refrigeration systems and equipment, ice machines, beverage dispensers, and display case refrigerators or freezers, cooking appliances.

Integration of refrigeration equipment with cooking equipment.

Establish and improve work systems by studying manufacturing process layout, work flow and work flow methods.

Specific responsibilities include work cell design, assembly method development, labor standards maintenance, and process documentation.

Develop and oversee safety, quality, inventory, and production record systems.

Also responsible for capacity planning, resource utilization and efficiency metrics.

Participate in continuous product and process improvement activities.

Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.

Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.

Perform engineering analysis and feasibility investigations for new or improved product or component design concepts.

Design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Recommend design approaches considering customer specifications, product or component performance requirements, and manufacturing and assembly processes.

Provide direction to the model shop for the fabrication and assembly of prototypes and test set-ups.

Assist with product introduction training.

Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.

Evaluate precision and accuracy of production and testing equipment and engineering drawings to formulate corrective action plan.

Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost.

Estimate production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control.

Selection, justification, purchase, validation, installation, and training of new capital equipment required for new or improved manufacturing processes.

Education: Bachelor Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.

Experience: Minimum Experience of 5-10 years in an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Exposure to lean manufacturing, 5S and kaizen principles is beneficial.
