Indirect Tax Analyst

Job Description: Role purpose As part of a business line spin off, a new Tax department is being created.

The mission of this Tax department is to be viewed as a trusted business advisor within the Company.

Paramount to achieving this mission is having the right resources in place that bring a customer service approach and business centric view to providing tax advice.

As a member of the Indirect Tax group, the Indirect Tax Senior Analyst position is responsible for preparing various indirect tax returns including sales and use, property tax, unclaimed property, ethanol tax, gross receipts and other adhoc returns as needed.

There will be significant interface with tax department personnel and individuals at other business units (Shared Services Center, Plant personnel, and Customer Service).

Company In July 2021, Tate & Lyle announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell a controlling stake in a new company, comprising of its Primary Products business in North America and Latin America and its interests in two joint ventures, to KPS Capital Partners, LP.

Tate & Lyle and KPS will each own approximately 50% of the new company with KPS having Board and operational control.

Main accountabilitiesPreparation of assigned sales and use tax returnsReview the sales and use tax returns prepared by the Tax AnalystAssist the Indirect Tax Manager with the preparation of property tax renditionsPay all property tax billsPrepare tax account reconciliationsApprove the creation of new customers and vendors for input into our SAP ERP SystemWork with the Tax Analyst to renew customer exemption certificates on an annual basisAssist in maintaining internal controls throughout all associated processesWork on special projects as assigned Performance measures Ensure that all sales and use tax returns are timely and accurately filedEnsure that all property tax payments are made timely and accuratelyEnsure that tax account reconciliations are timely and accurately preparedEnsure that customer exemption certificates are maintained contemporaneously, and periodically updated Legislative requirementsA duty to take care of your own health, safety, and that of others who may be affected by your actions at work.
