The Role You’ll Play

Taking a proactive approach, you will build relationships with other key stakeholders and put communication guidelines in place that ensure a smooth compliance process.

You will perform regular audits of the systems and processes related to procurement and customs and find areas for continuous improvement and cost savings.

Working closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, transportation, IT, sales, and supply chain, you will ensure a steady flow of critical supply to the manufacturing sites.

Who You Are
Deeply experienced in HTS classification, especially for product manufacturing.
Thoroughly understanding of the role of a Customs Broker, comfortable interacting with domestic and foreign government agencies.
Well able to manage foreign suppliers vis a vis US import requirements, ensuring uninterrupted flow of supply.
Proactive approach, rather than reactive, to foresee and avoid problems arising.
Intentional about building relationships with other departments and fostering strong cross-functional communication and collaboration.

You are friendly, but assertive when needed.
Very familiar with CFR Title 19
– Federal regulations US Customs.
Able to demonstrate a history of maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
Extremely strong communicator (written and verbal), with strong negotiation skills.
A demonstrated self-starter with leadership qualities

Background Profile
3+ years of Global Regulatory Compliance or related experience for a multi-national company required.

Including:
HTS classification experience and expertise required
US Customs entry experience required
Managing Foreign suppliers vis a vis US import requirements required
Experience working with a variety of government agencies including customs & DOT required
Experience working either as or with a Customs Broker on importing product e.g.

valuations.

Customs Brokers License preferred
Exceptional Problem solving and computer/skillsets
Very strong Excel skills required
Access skills a plus
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, required
