Position: A/P Specialist 329 Department: Accounting Reports to: Manager, Accounts Payable Direct Reports: No FLSA Status: Non-exempt Location: 3880 N Mission Los Angeles, CA 90031 Job Purpose: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for assist with the full cycle of Accounts Payables process by processing invoices.
The Accounts Payable Specialist will ensure that municipal finances are accurate/up-to-date, as well as ensuring that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits.
Deliverables: Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable functions including matching, batching and coding Review invoices and check all AP requests; ensure approval per expenses policy and the accurate review of vendor ageing reports Maintain a general ledger according to an approved chart of accounts by posting entries, making adjusted entries, performing daily computer entry functions associated with ledgers Create and review purchase order transactions and ensure that reports are complete/accurate Assign batch numbers to correlating purchase order transactions Perform other administrative and ad-hoc reporting duties associate with the full-cycle AP process Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications: Must have a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or a similar field Must have 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable Previous Lawson experience is preferred Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Must be able to effectively multi-task in a fast paced environmentWhat we Expect Customer Obsession; you know who your customer is and working in service to them is working in service to our end consumer.
