Dietitian -Fellowship

Unit Description:

Sodexo is seeking a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or RD eligible for certification, to come join their dynamic clinical team at Keck Medicine of USC, located in Los Angeles, CA. This position is a part of the clinical nutrition fellowship and is focused on learnings for the new graduate and entry-level Registered Dietitian.

  • In this program, rotations in the inpatient and outpatient setting will be coordinated based on the preferences and interest of the dietitian fellow with the intent to continue their training by embedding them into a variety of specialty patient populations and programs.  By doing this, we  as a part of the clinical nutrition fellowship will give the fellow the opportunity to realize a deeper, more comprehensive understanding of these patient populations while assessing what patient population(s) they want to pursue in their career.                                    
  • While the program is set for 1 year (July through June), there may be opportunities throughout the year to be considered for open positions within Keck Medicine of USC; 
  • At any time during the program that there is unplanned staff shortages, we maintain the right to request the fellow support the gap in coverage while determining best course of action;
  • This could be to consider the fellow for the position or recruit outside of the organization for the position;
  •  At the end of the program, if the fellow has not retained a position at Keck Medicine of USC, they will have the opportunity to consider any position within Sodexo or terminate relationship in a desire to take employment elsewhere.

Reporting to the Director of Clinical Nutrition the ideal candidate will:

  • Be RD eligible for certification or entry-level RD who has completed their intern requirements;
  • take and pass RD exam within 3 months;
  • have performed well within their clinical rotations, preferably completing rotations at Keck Medicine of USC;
  • take initiative, be innovative, and passionate about nutrition and elevating our practice;
  • Be self-directed, flexible, and a team player and have excellent time management, verbal, and written communication skills.

What We Offer:

Sodexo offers fair and equitable compensation, partially determined by a candidate’s education level or years of relevant experience. While the budgeted range for the position is posted, Sodexo salary offers are based on a candidate’s specific criteria, like experience, skills, education and training.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Basic Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)  (Note: For those seeking registration after 2023, this must be a master’s degree)



Credentials Requirement:

  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.  In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice
