Department Chair, I/O and Business Psychology – SoCal Campuses

Position Summary: The Master of Arts in Industrial Organizational Psychology is a flagship program at TCSPP with a nationally aligned curriculum that includes ground and blended courses at our Southern California campuses.

In Los Angeles and Anaheim, we offer doctoral programs of study in Organizational Leadership, with the additional option of a Ph.D.

in Business Psychology in Los Angeles.

The Department of I/O and Business Psychology at the Downtown Los Angeles campus is accepting applications for a Department Chair that will oversee the academic operations across our Los Angeles, Anaheim, and San Diego campuses.

The Chair works within a matrixed structure, reporting directly to the Campus Dean, with dotted reporting lines to our Vice President of Academic Affairs.

A successful candidate will understand the competitive recruiting landscape in Southern California and bring an entrepreneurial approach to developing a strategic enrollment plan.

The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (Southern California) is a complex and interdependent university system of 3 campuses with a culture of collaboration and shared decision making.

We are seeking a strong record of scholarship, faculty training and mentoring, and measurable experience with developing community and business relationships with a strategic focus on growing the next generation of I/O professionals.

Principal Duties: * Provide the day-to-day administrative functions of the department * Responsible for institutional, program, and learning outcomes * Ensure student advisement results in timely completion rates * Abide by FERPA in managing all student documents and records * Take a lead role in envisioning, evaluating, and executing grass roots efforts to grow program enrollment * Manage the financial health of the program, maintains active oversight with forecasting future expenses and managing costs in accordance with budget plan * Innovate new opportunities for students to engage in scholarship and community engagement * Stay abreast of emergent technologies in the field and incorporates them into the learning experience * Partner with student serving departments and inter-campus personnel to augment the student life experience * Maintain knowledge of current catalog guidelines and academic policies * Ensure that course scheduling is efficient and in accordance with academic budget guidelines * Hire, onboard, and train core and adjunct faculty * Plan and execute action-oriented faculty meetings * Assess curricular and student assessment data * Manage yearly budgets * Serve as a role model for addressing student concerns in a timely and responsive manner * Review and assess accreditation standards and department goals * Coordinate various administrative functions with the Campus Dean and Dean other departments as appropriate * Serve as an architect of processes and procedures that are updated to fit the changing needs of our student populations * Teach graduate level psychology courses using contemporary pedagogical methods * Maintain active scholarship as evidenced by membership in professional organizations, publications, presentations, and colloquia * Integrate technology into classroom instruction * Supervise student research * Mentor and provide internship supervision for a diverse student body * Actively engage in institution-wide development Position Qualifications: * Ph.D.

or Psy.D.

in I/O and or Business Psychology from a regionally accredited institution preferred * Evidence of prior effective leadership in a similar role within a college or university setting * Ability to demonstrate the relevance of their work and interests to our larger community * Ability to share the Department’s emphasis on evidence-based practice.
