Credit Officer III

POSITION SUMMARY:

The credit officer is responsible for review, approval, and management of assigned credit portfolios, which may include C&I, CRE & Construction, SBL, and SBA loans. In addition, if being nominated as Senior Loan Committee (SLC) voting member, the credit officer is also responsible for reviewing the credit request or other matters submitted to SLC for approval, providing opinions and casting vote.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Credit Approval (60%)

Review and approve credit requests submitted by business units.
Provide independent credit recommendations to higher-level approval authority if applicable.
Ensure the credit underwriting quality with Bank policies, guidelines, and documentation requirements followed.
Engage with business units to provide constructive feedback.

Credit Monitoring (35%)

Oversee assigned loan portfolios, identify any deterioration in credit quality, and communicate with business units for action plan or solution, to minimize loss exposure.
Perform periodic credit review and grading process to ensure loans are properly risk graded.

Team Management (5%)

Manage the team workload and coverage for the assigned loan portfolios to ensure sufficiency.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Achieve individual objectives and goals and contribute to the accomplishment of those established by Credit Group.
Ensure asset origination is of strong quality while supporting the Bank’s success in its objective of growth.
Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank and BSA compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business-related fields.
15+ years of credit analyzing, credit approval, or relevant experiences in commercial lending area in both CRE and C&I areas.
Knowledgeable in banking regulations and governing laws.
Able to prioritize and perform duties independently.
Proficient in communication with all levels of staff including business units and the management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged period of times; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less.

COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:

Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and staff.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Standard office environment. Noise level in work environment is usually average. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is USD $150,000.00/Yr. – USD $180,000.00/Yr plus full benefits. Exact offer will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
