As a Paralegal at Compass, you will be an integral part of the Legal Team primarily supporting commercial and expansion-related business initiatives.

At Compass You Will
Work with attorneys on the Commercial team to support a variety of business transactions, prepare various documents, including, but not limited to, license and membership applications for brokerage and real estate ventures businesses, commercial contracts, cover letters, and other legal documents.
Create, update and maintain a library of forms and other resources for fast and efficient document creation.
Conduct legal research and notify business partners of updates in regulations.
Work alongside the Commercial and Expansion teams to gather information, documents and data to support new transactions and business ventures and existing commercial relationships.
Facilitate communication and compliance with relevant regulatory agencies, including filing necessary documentation, confirming requirements and processes, conducting light research, and making telephonic and written inquiries.
Work collaboratively with internal and outside counsel and consultants, as well as other Compass teams to facilitate contract execution, document storage and maintenance, vendor file creation and management, legal deadline calculation and calendaring.
Maintain and update various reporting processes including budgeting and legal invoices and other contract and vendor management tools.
Exercise judgment within defined procedures to determine appropriate action, including, but not limited to, identifying issues that require the input of other Legal Team members and taking steps to escalate these matters appropriately.
Help with the development and implementation of processes for efficient and streamlined operations, including work flow between the Legal Team and other teams at Compass.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience as a Paralegal or Legal Specialist at a law firm or in-house legal department.
Experience working with licensing schemes, technology, regulatory investigations; experience with legal invoicing and Title, Escrow or Real Estate Brokerage services a plus!
Ability to review and organize numerous documents in complex legal matters.
Proactive, problem-solving attitude and strong work ethic without extensive supervision; ability to effectively and efficiently manage numerous cases and projects under time-sensitive deadlines.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with an acute ability to listen attentively and communicate effectively throughout all levels of the organization.
Proficiency and high aptitude with computer skills, such as MacOS, MS Office, GSuite, Westlaw and Adobe Acrobat.
