Job Description

Discover an insider’s perspective on FBI operations by applying for the Collegiate Hiring Initiative (CHI), a unique FBI program that offers full-time, permanent positions to graduating seniors or those who have recently completed undergraduate, graduate or PhD degrees.

Recent graduates help support a huge part of the FBI’s mission.

Whatever your role, you will play a key part in protecting the American people and upholding the Constitution of the United States.

The application period for the 2022 CHI program is now open and will run through Sept.

30, 2021.

Applicants must attend or have attended a college or university as an undergrad, graduate or post-doctoral student.

Recent graduates must have graduated within 24 months of the program date; for veterans, within 72 months of the program date.

Upcoming graduates must be on track to graduate by June 2022.

Computer Scientist: Computer Scientists do everything from analyzing and preserving digital evidence to testing and applying technical and analytical innovations to building virtual computing environments and isolated analysis networks.

You will have the opportunity to be innovative, test and learn and use your creativity and engineering skills in this essential role that directly impacts the FBI’s mission.

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science with a combined 30 semester hours in mathematics, statistics and computer science, andserves throughout the 56 Field Offices, as well as Headquarters’ divisions.

The Bureau is actively seeking Computer Scientists with skill sets fitting the identified specializations:

Network Engineering: Would hold network certifications (Cisco, CISSP, Network+), as well as have network administration experience, infrastructure knowledge (ISP, cellular, Wi-Fi) and encryption knowledge/experience.

Developer: Would have knowledge of and/or experience with Low Level Programming (C, C++, C#, Java, Object Oriented Languages), Scripting Languages (Python, Perl, Bash, Powershell), Database Administration, software design, SDLC, Agile Development, program management, event-based programming, encryption and iOS Swift.

Incident Response: Would have knowledge of and/or experience with Enterprise Administration, entry-level forensics, network administration, Powershell, basic concepts of operating systems, IDS/IPS and encryption.

Reverse Engineering: Would have knowledge of and/or experience in assembly language, x86, x64, Ghidra, IDAPro, debugging tools, static/dynamic analysis, networking concepts/analysis, C programming, encryption and anti-forensics.

Cybersecurity: Would have knowledge of and/or experience with vulnerability management, security operations center, firewall/proxy, penetration testing, network traffic analysis, encryption and intrusion protection and detection systems.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Be a U.S.

citizen.

Have a graduating GPA of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.

Pass an FBI polygraph examination.

Pass an FBI-administered urinalysis drug test and be in compliance with the FBI Employment Drug Policy:

No use of marijuana within the last year.

No use of any other illegal drug in the past 10 years.

No selling, distributing, manufacturing or transporting of any illegal drugs.

No use of a prescription drug or a legally obtainable substance in a manner for which it was not intended within the last three years.

In addition, you must:

Never have been convicted of a felony.

Not be in default on a student loan insured by the U.S.

government.

Be registered with the Selective Service System (males only, exceptions apply).
