Maintains ongoing relationships with businesses and services for competitive placements.

Reports to the Assistant Director of Competitive Integrated Employment.RESPONSIBILITIES:Supports the achievement of individuals personal outcomes.Daily activities and schedule are overseen by a Lead Employment Specialist.Develops a thorough understanding of all tasks comprising the job by working on the job as required.Assesses and determines a match of referral employees for a specific job.Develops task analysis training procedures for all new tasks associated with jobs.

Devises methods for implementing training procedures for incoming employees.Facilitates the placement of individuals with disabilities in community-based employment.Trains workers with developmental disabilities to operate basic production equipment or to perform a specific service.

Provides necessary followup on the job once training has been withdrawn.Maintains up to date training records on all workers under his/her supervision.Develops and maintains own skills by attending appropriate training sessions.Ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of employees on the job on a daily basis.

Ensures that the employer’s job is completed in a timely manner.Ensures that employees are well integrated into the daily operations of the business or service.

Limits supervision to the amount needed to complete the job.Ensures appropriate relationships between the employee and the employing business or service.Communicates effectively with all employers.

Ensures effective communications between coworkers and employees.Develops employer contacts and markets to employers in a consistent manner.

Establishes credibility and maintains contacts with businesses and services in the community.Develops and facilitates community-based assessments to evaluate a school to work student or an adult clients interests and abilities.Teaches pre-employment skills to school to work transition students and adult clients to help them develop the necessary abilities to find and maintain competitive employment.Provides job touring and job shadowing opportunities for clients to explore community-based employment options.Documents progress towards vocational goals and reports progress to the appropriate funding source.May be required to provide a cell phone for availability for work purposes.

May be eligible for cell phone stipend.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the needs of developmentally disabled adults in the working community, and the ability to train developmentally disabled adults on a one-to-one basis using a variety of techniques is required.

Must be able to communicate an understanding of the needs of the business community and have an understanding of job performance assessment.
