They are obtaining vital signs, help the patient with daily activities, promptly answering call lights, reporting any issues or progress observed, and reinforcing rehab techniques as assigned by the therapy team.
Specific DutiesObtains vital signs as directedAnswer call lights promptly and report problems to a primary nurse/designeeAssist with monitoring diets and nutritional supplements, as well as providing appropriate cues to patients for feeding or swallowing once directed by speech or occupational therapistAssists nurse with patient admissions, transfers and dischargesQualifications:Minimum QualificationsEducation: High School diploma or equivalent required.Certification as a Nursing Assistant required based on state JCAHO requirementsPreferred ExperienceBLS preferredHospital experience preferredAdditional Data:California Rehabilitation Institute a 138-bed facility offers patients a higher degree of excellence in medical rehabilitation.

The Inpatient Rehabilitation Division conducts post-offer employment testing (POET) for a number of job titles including, but not limited to: Rehabilitation Assistant/Nursing AssistantNursePhysical, Occupational and Speech TherapyEnvironmental Services POETS are completed as part of the onboarding process-to be completed before an employee’s first day of work.
