Primary Duties: Provide credit underwriting to assist Commercial Lender(s) with credit requests to be presented for approval.

Typical credit underwriting areas include: Sources and uses of monies; borrowers business and management assessments; spreadsheet preparation and analysis when applicable; cash flow and financial statement analysis; collateral assessment; completion of loan risk rating matrix; and preparation of adverse action notices when appropriate Annually collect and track financial statements of existing loans; facilitate the preparation of analysis required for periodic credit reviews and line of credit renewals, credit quality and loan covenant compliance; ensure collateral lien perfection and financial statement tracking for new and portfolio loans; monitor the portfolio to ensure compliance with SSCU Board Policy, NCUA/ ODFI Regulations, SBA/Colson requirements, and other applicable laws, regulations and requirements.

Prepare reports for the Chairman of the Special Attention Credit Committee (SAC), and maintain SAC file for review by auditors/ regulators.

Portfolio administration which includes duties such as: Processing and disbursement of loans when applicable; implementing interest rate changes; processing credit line billing statement; compiling MBL concentration and ALLL portfolio reports; and other duties to ensure credit files and the MBL department are both adequately supported.

Provide credit underwriting support via information gathering, financial statement analysis and risk assessment for existing and prospective member business loans.

Prepare credit write-ups for new loan presentations to the proper approval authority while ensuring all due diligence and compliance issues are addressed.

Secondary Duties: Shall directly perform or assist the department manager in the following areas: Ensure credit proposals underwritten and presented for approval are compliant with Board Policy and NCUA regulations.

Prepare closing documents for approved loans in accordance with approved terms and/or conditions established by the approval authority (e.g., MBL Dept.

VP Commercial Lending, the SVP of Lending or Business Loan Committee) and facilitate the closing of new loans with members, title companies, etc., as applicable.

Keep abreast of changes within the regulatory environment to ensure compliance while responding to inquiries from auditors and regulatory agencies as necessary.

Participate in the Special Asset Committee and present reports for troubled member business loans, and present MBL quarterly reports to the Credit Unions ALLL Committee.

Understand the 504 loan and other SBA programs.

Perform duties within the scope of policies, procedures and strategic goals, referring unprecedented issues and those requiring interpretation of, or exception to policy to manager.

Prerequisite Education: 1.

High school diploma or equivalent Prerequisite Experience: 1.

Five years of experience in primarily commercial loan underwriting, with portfolio management and credit administration experience a plus in the banking and/ or credit union industries.

Other Prerequisite Requirements of the Position: Extreme accuracy.

Proficient use of a financial calculator and personal computer.
