The Coffee Educator & Training Manager at The Boy & The Bear
– Coffee Roastery is responsible for cultivating passion for world class specify coffee, setting the higher standards and consistency in recipes across all the stores: Redondo Beach, Westchester, Culver City and Pasadena.
The leader in this position must be able to attend to weekly shifts to all 4 stores and keep the consistency across every recipe and brewing method.
The Coffee Educator works hand in hand with the Store’s Leader by receiving feedback on strength and weakness of each of our team member in order to address and teach effectively.
Coffee Educator & Training Manager
PART-TIME: 25 to 30 hours a week (for a start)
– $19 per hour + Tips ( Average of + $8.75)
– You will be scheduled 5 days a week / 2 days off.
– 5 to 6 hours shifts.
REQUIREMENTS:
– You are passionate for world class specialty coffee.
– Impeccable Customer Service.
– 2 years of experience in the Specialty Coffee industry
– 2 years of experience on solid Latte Art Skills.
– Knows how to dial and make the right variable adjustments for a great espresso shot.
– Passionate for teaching and creating a motivating culture around our specialty coffees.
– Reliable on every shift and STRONG WORK ETHICS.
– Detail oriented
– Problem solver
– Legacy to our customer experience and product quality is your big priority.
– Able to deliver constructive feedback.
– Flexible schedule and MUST be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
– Food Handlers card required.
– Must work well with others and take initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES
– Maintain higher standards of brewing and product quality at all 4 stores.
– Maintain recipes across all 4 stores.
– Able to drive / commute to all 4 stores on a weekly basis.
– Attend to our team members coffee questions and solve them effectively.
– Leads and reinforces our company’s values and specialty coffee culture between our team to project the same into our customer’s experience.
– Knows how to organize your team according to everyone’s strengths for a faster service and consistent product quality.
– Learns first about new coffees and provide staff with information about these coffees and coffee menu changes.
– Conduct cuppings at each store to ensure that all staff is knowledgeable about all coffees we are serving.
– Training all new hires and help new baristas develop and scale up within the company.
– Training baristas to develop new skills: Latte Art & Espresso Dialing as well as Pour Over including brewing techniques.
Customer Experience.
– Order’s turnaround time is always your main priority.
– Ensures every order will be a faster service with a consistent high product quality.
– Ensures that the barista on the register greets every customer immediately in a friendly manner before the customers greet first.
