Position: Assistant Coach, Baseball. This is a benefit-based, part-time academic year appointment in the Cal State LA Department of Athletics. Subsequent appointments are based on merit and program needs.

Starting Date: August 2021

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required, physical education or related field preferred. Demonstrated successful coaching experience at the collegiate; high school, or club levels; commitment to the academic and athletic success of the student-athlete; good communication skills and administrative abilities; demonstrated ability and/or interest in working in a multi-ethnic, multicultural environment.

Duties:
Serve as an assistant coach for an NCAA Division II program. The University belongs to the CCAA Conference. Under the direction of the head coach, the assistant coach will assist in all facets of the program. Responsibilities include assisting in all training, practices, and games, recruiting, camps, ordering equipment, scheduling, gathering, and recording of statistical information, office administration, and fund-raising. Responsible for transporting coaches and/or student-athletes in state vehicles and/or rental vehicles for team travel and/or recruiting needs. The Assistant Coach is responsible for enforcement of institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations relevant to Cal State LA Department of Athletics. Assistant Coach must possess and maintain certification in CPR/AED (cardiopulmonary resuscitation and automated external defibrillation) for the Professional Rescuer and first aid.

Salary: Initial salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
