CalabasasCAJob DescriptionEntry-Level Product Personal Injury, Product Property Damage and Premises Injury Claims Specialist.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProcess and handle incoming customer claims pertaining to personal injury and property damage that have not yet ripened into lawsuitsIdentify and contact individuals who may have documents and information related to customer claims; interview witnesses relevant to investigation into claimsIdentify and gather documents and materials related to customer claims such as product information, including product manuals, product warning labels, packaging, certificates of insurance, test reports, changes in product design and other evidentiary documentsGather all supporting documents from store including statements, police reports, photos, invoices and Customer Incident ReportFollow up with stores to obtain any information missing from Customer Incident Report, or for clarification of factsCreate/open new digital claims files and update databaseMaintain 1000+ open claim files, 100+ attorney and pending claims in databases and digital copyNegotiate and settle claims directly with the claimantsWork with the Quality Assurance department to have claim items inspected and Product Claim Analysis Reports producedScheduling of inspection for site and artifact examination with claimant’s insurance company, their attorneys and/or expert witnesses and coordination with our representativesDraft claim summaries based on the demand package provided by opposing counselUpdate and maintain calendar of claims related events and deadlinesPrepare/revise general releases, settlement agreements and other settlement documents, arrange for timely execution and payment of settlement feesProcess closed/resolved claims filesPartner with other departments such as branding, QA, HR, Customer Service, Warehouse, Real Estate, Store Ops, Procurement, AP, Payroll and IT with regard to claimsCreate and maintain various databases pertaining to claims and certain legal mattersScopeStaff supervision and development – NoDecision Making – LimitedTravel – 0%Location – Corporate HQ / Remote
