At Bark & Birch we are on a mission to become the leading provider of dog services worldwide. We are growing at an epic rate, currently training thousands of dogs each month. We are in search of an outstanding Chief Technological Officer to join our team.

We are looking for an experienced chief technology officer to support and shape direction of the business. You will be working alongside our CEO in this newly created role. Its an exciting time to join us at Bark & Birch especially as we are getting ready for an investment round.

You will be able to proactively identify the best technologies, taking charge of platform development, making key decisions on technical architecture and solutions. You will have previous experience that will enable you to build, shape and manage the technical and development team. The ideal candidate is a full-stack developer with a proven track record of success.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for building and growing a team that will develop our internal systems. This will include tracking, insights and advice whilst working closely with our stakeholders to bring the best possible solutions. Bark & Birch is in the final stages of creating revenue streams with our own apps and systems that we will sell to external parties to accelerate how we help owners and their dogs around the globe. You will be a strong leader who can take ownership for the development and implementation of digital platforms and manage future roadmaps.
The ideal candidate will have a sound understanding of the app lifecycle including release, monitoring and debugging. You will have an excellent understanding of User Experience methodology and its importance in digital product development whilst your strong engineering background will enable you to deliver high quality applications of significant scale and complexity.
Must have skills and attributes
- Proven experience as a CTO or similar leadership role
- Extensive experience of full stack development and able to build systems from scratch
- Experience working with key tools and/or programming languages
- Track record of building, scaling, training, and coaching high functioning development teams
- Great communication skills
- Ability to work in remote environment
