Chief of Staff -Commercial Transformation

Ashfield Engage is partnering with a leading Biotechnology company to enhance and transform their commercial operating model.

The Chief of Staff will oversee all aspects of the commercial transformation supporting the Chief Commercial Officer directly.

This is a critically important role, enabling the CCO to work most effectively with internal and external stakeholders and fulfill their commitments to company’s customers, shareholders, and Board of Directors.

This is a highly strategic and facilitative role that requires a combination of focus and flexibility as well as a willingness to play an active role in the organization’s operating model.

As the CCOs trusted counsel, the role requires a highly resourceful individual with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and strong analytical skills.

Working as the commercial transformation lead, you will be immersed in strategic and operational analysis as well as take a lead role in implementing a new operating model within the business, giving you deep insight and access to the organizational strategy and direction.

Lead the strategic implementation of all workstreams specific to the future state operating model Partner with internal and external resources to ensure effective, timely delivery Implement an effective change management strategy to ensure a unified approach to embracing and executing based on the new operating model Analyze business strategy and marketing plans Develop a thorough understanding of the US Market to identify future growth opportunities Attend business meetings with the Senior team and providing updates and progress on the new commercial operating model implementation.

Prepare critical meeting agendas and sending out pre meeting documentation Lead regular business update meetings showcasing tracking outcomes, deliverables, and progress toward KPI’s and core objectives Work closely with the CCO to identify and prepare for critical thought leadership engagements Become aware of issues from an integrative, executive leadership perspective Obtain an up close and personal understanding of leadership and decision-making related to the simultaneous execution of a complex organizational growth strategy and the continuous transformation of an industry sector.

What do you need for this position?

The successful candidate will be discrete, high-energy, agile-minded, strategic, proactive, highly-organized and committed to the vision and values of company.

In addition, the following standards will generally define the successful incumbent: Bachelor’s degree coupled with 15 or more years’ experience in sales, marketing, operations and/or training working in or serving the life sciences/medical device industry required.

Experience in a startup or reorganization environment is highly preferred Mission-driven; passionate about company’s vision, values and patients Good sense of self and strong personal presence Willingness to work hard and take direction, ownership and accountability for work but also creatively solve problems for which the answers aren’t always obvious Ability to demonstrate initiative, suggest improvements to current systems as well as establish new processes Excellent analytical skills and strategic agility Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy Willing to get involved in ad hoc projects with a can-do attitude Ability to both influence key stakeholders as well as drive for decisions and outcomes when necessary Able to thrive in a highly dynamic, fast paced, continuously changing global environment with minimal oversight/direction.
