Performs a variety of tasks in the controlling and monitoring of chemicals within the company facility or manufacturing production organization in accordance with federal, state and local regulations such as EPA Clean Water Act and DOT Toxic Substances Control Act.

Monitors chemicals, related equipment, and waste system indicators; makes chemical and equipment adjustments to ensure proper system functioning and chemical solution balance; removes and disposes of waste chemicals, solvents, and acids; inspects hazardous waste production and storage units; and maintains operational logs. Cleans up chemical spills.

May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Must have a good understanding of chemicals (acids, bases, oxidizers, flammables, reducers, water-reactives) in a variety of forms (liquids, solids, gases, sludges, slurries) and related incompatibilities to prevent undesirable chemical reactions. Work is performed in occasional hazardous working conditions and requires the use of specialized safety equipment and apparatuses. • Maintain counts of 1200+ chemicals
• Haul boxes containing chemicals
• Keep diligence in transferring chemicals to their respective cabinets
• Create shippers for deliveries
• Maintain log of Chemical disposal
• Red tag all disposal/ expired chemicals
• Refill alcohol bottles (20-30/week)
• Relabel alcohol labels during every refill
• Create child containers( take from the Primary and onto a secondary container) with its respective label and Hazardous GHS signs
• Mix substances and have knowledge of ratios for mixing
• Reorganize cabinets as needed (approx. once a month)
• replace labels for corroded/damaged labels
• maintain and reorder chemical mixers/secondary bottles/ supplies
• clean cabinets ( once a quarter)
• verify chemicals /chemical info, QTY ,
• Label specific chemicals
• PART A/B etc. when chemicals have subsets
• EUO
