Max Young with Robert Half Finance has partnered with a growing real estate company and is seeking a CFO to lead the accounting and finance function. Reporting directly to ownership, you will also be responsible for providing strategic support to help drive further growth of the business. The CFO will be a full-time employment opportunity and will be located in the Los Angeles, California region. In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Your responsibilities

– Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

– Collaborate with executive team and partners to make efficient and effective firm-wide operation possible

– Able to perform additional tasks beyond formal job duties

– Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

– Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

– Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

– Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

– Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

– Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

– Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

– Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

Job Requirements:

– 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a CFO preferred

– Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

– Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the “why”

– Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required

– Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

– Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

– CPA or MBA preferred

– Strong communication and social skills

– BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

– Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

– Multifamily real estate experience preferred

– Solid understanding of Month-end Close Activities

– Well-founded grasp of Intercompany Transactions

– Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

– Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
