JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary
Soul Food Shack Front of the House Cashiers1&2 are the first pointof contact and first impression of the restaurant. This position is responsible for the cleanliness, accuracy and to provide friendly, responsive, and exceptional customer service to all Soul Food Shack customers.
Essential Responsibilities
 Engages the guests promptly as they enter and leave the restaurant
 Ensures the guest has a great experience by following standards, the sequence of service, and always having guest awareness
 Informs guest(s) of menu and makes recommendations accordingly/as needed
 Demonstrates knowledge of the brand and menu items by answering questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services
 Takes guests food orders and handle cash and credit transactions accurately and according to standards
 Answer all phone calls on restaurant phone and answer customer questions and/or orders as needed
 Works with kitchen team to meet any special requirements for ingredients and preparation of food
 Prepares drink orders
 Check and bag all orders with utensils and condiments
 Delivers food and beverages to guests in a timely and efficient manner
 Performs the start and end of each shift as required
 Maintains cleanliness and organization in place in the front of the house and service area including windows; Wipe down and sanitize counters and tables and chairs as customers/guests leave
 Respond promptly and courteously to any customer requests
 Thank guest for their visit and invite them to return
 Attends all scheduled team member meetings/training and brings suggestions for improvements
 Takes necessary meal and rest breaks accordingly
 Clocks in and out of the restaurant in a timely manner
 Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Must represent Soul Food Shack as trained and directed.
 Possess and instill high quality standards for production and guest service.
 Detail oriented, organized, and efficient. Safety-minded.
 Effective communication skills.
 Courteous, friendly, and professional manner.
 Trustworthy and reliable.
 Possess strong basic math skills and can operate a cash register or POS system.
 Must be able to communicate (speak, read, write) in English
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Bilingual in Spanish
 High School Diploma
 Restaurant experience
 Knowledge of TOAST POS system
 Cash handling experience
 Food Handlers Certificate
 Restaurant experience preferred but not required
 Cash handling experience a plus
Work Requirements/Environment:
Inside work with little exposure to weather conditions. This type of work will involve walking and standing for extended periods. Stooping, squatting, kneeling, overhead reaching and repetitive bending may be involved frequently with this position. Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents including memos, menus, and POS system; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment; bending, kneeling or stooping, reaching overhead to retrieve materials, lifting up to 10 lbs.
Must comply with Companys Appearance and Dress Code standard as set forth. In some areas of the restaurant temperatures may vary, where air may be moist, warm, and odorous from cooking foods. Floors are uneven and may be slippery from moisture and grease.
