About the Job: This Associate position within the Capital Markets team will be primarily responsible for assisting in the managing and servicing the diverse global capital partner and investor relationships of Cottonwood.
Being interdisciplinary in nature, this role will be supporting the capital raising and client servicing efforts of the Firm, requiring frequent client contact and excellent written and oral communication skills.
The Associate, Capital Markets will need to develop a close collaborative relationship with the Investments, Portfolio Management and Back-Office teams to carry out the Firm’s business mandates and foster and grow key external relationships and partnerships.
Core Responsibilities:
Work with senior professionals to develop and revamp (as necessary) a coherent global investor relations strategy and plan (US and Asia focused) Collate investor sentiment and feedback for the evaluation by the executive and other internal teams Manage and service current and potential investors and capital partners across all investment vehicles, including managing expectations of deliverables Work with other Capital Markets team members to deepen and broaden the portfolios we manage on the clients’ behalf Review and prepare teasers, presentations, public relations communications and other marketing materials, working collaboratively with the Investments team, Portfolio Management team, and external parties as necessary Work with Portfolio Management team to ensure timely responses to investors’ questions, and production and delivery of investor reports and other deliverables Liaising with investors and Compliance department (or fund administrator, as applicable) regarding investor on-boarding and due diligence management, including collection and review of AML & KYC documentation; and maintaining a working knowledge of relevant fund governing documents Assist in active market intelligence gathering and reporting, with a focus on leverage lenders and senior lenders, share such information with the executive and other internal teams Perform research on investor prospects Keep meeting notes during investor calls and coordinate all follow-up materials for distribution to investors following each meeting/ call Source and analyze industry research related to fundraising or supporting data related to fundraising strategies and rationale Assist with the maintenance, management and development of the firm’s internal CRM database and related reports Generate investor trackers for designated funds, separate accounts, co-investments, or joint ventures Support business owner of the Investor Relations email account to ensure requests are promptly and accurately addressed with the support of the appropriate internal teams Maintain investor portal and firm website Complete additional tasks and special projects as needed

Requirements/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in Business Administration, Economics, Real Estate, Finance or related field required.
A minimum of 4+ years of experience in capital markets and/or investor relations in the private equity real estate investment industry.
Exceptional business writing and oral communication skills; ability to navigate through complex legal documents an advantage Advanced Microsoft Office skills (including Excel and PowerPoint) and Adobe skills.
Strong work ethic and highest ethical standards Strong attention to detail and quality of deliverables Ability to manage across time zones in order to retrieve and disseminate information, plan meetings and calls, and assist with contacting investors.
Ability to travel as needed for business Proficiency in Chinese or Korean a plus
