Department Overview

The Enterprise Corrective Action Program (ECAP) department manages an enterprise-wide Corrective Action Program, including standardized governance and innovative tools for PG&E personnel to easily report, prioritize, track, trend and resolve issues.

 

The CAP program includes the capture, evaluation, and analysis (including root cause analyses) of failures, incidents, nonconformities, and other problems across the enterprise; the development and completion of corrective and preventive action plans; monitoring and trending; and the overall coordination of related activities for the enterprise.

 

The ECAP Program team is responsible for designing, testing and implementing CAP tool changes to support changing CAP processes; providing troubleshooting/customer support for our end users; and innovating new solutions such as SAP process automation and SAP text analytics.

 

Position Summary

The Business Systems Specialist (BSS) is viewed as an integral member of the ECAP Program team and understands business needs as well as business content, procedures, processes and systems. Activities may include but are not limited to:

work with stakeholders across all Lines of Business to conduct current state process  assessments; create current state and future state process maps; identify process and/or technology gaps; gather and document business requirements; create and execute UAT scripts; assist with change management efforts; assist with creating training materials; and support day-to-day and post-deployment process and technology issue resolution.

 

This Business Systems Specialist will work with stakeholders from every Line of Business, as well as the IT project manager and IT functional and development leads.

 

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who works well with all levels of the organization, is an excellent communicator who can translate technical information into business terms for stakeholders; has a keen process understanding; works well with ambiguity; has excellent written and oral communication skills; is a consensus builder; and is adept at overcoming resistance to change.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate business requirements and deliverables with Lines of Business stakeholders as well as IT
  • Gather and document business requirements and identifying gaps
  • Participate on teams that develop requirements for the business needs solution.
  • Create and execute product and UAT scripts for SAP, MII and/or Mobile solutions; ensure business requirements are met
  • Provide Application Support and Customer Service to end users
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing sessions with key LoB stakeholders
  • Analyze end-to-end complex business processes and coordinate with IT to develop and implement solutions to information needs.
  • Create current state process assessments
  • Create future state process maps and identify gaps
  • Assist with creating training materials
  • Create status reports
  • Identify, track, and mitigate risks
  • Identify, propose and influence solutions to complex business problems.

 

 

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, etc. or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 years of experience in similar or related job functions (Business, IT or Engineering fields) that could be substituted by an advanced degree.
  • Experience documenting business requirements and process flow charts
  • Experience performing data analysis and working with reporting technologies such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar

 

Desired:

 

  • Experience supporting business or IT deployment projects and/or on-going maintenance
  • Experience conducting UAT sessions with business and/or technology teams
  • Experience creating and executing product and UAT test scripts
  • Experience providing customer support for technology solutions 
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
  • Experience with testing, deploying or supporting SAP, MII and/or Mobile technologies (or similar)
  • Experience supporting a Corrective Action and/or Cause Evaluation Program
  • Experience participating in cause evaluations and/or process improvements
  • Experience with large, enterprise-wide process and technology deployments
  • Experience and training in process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma etc) and project management methodologies (agile/waterfall)
  • Experience facilitating working sessions/workshops with Directors, Managers and Individual Contributors
  • Project management experience
  • Work experience in the utility industry or other regulated industry
