CalabasasCAJob DescriptionThe Benefits Coordinator provides administrative and clerical support within a highly collaborative environment.
This role supports the day to day functions for Benefits department by regularly checking and appropriately dispositioning emails that come into the Benefits email inbox, incoming phones, communicating with partnering departments and carriers to ensure a healthy associate experience, and assist with the HFT wellness program and benefit projects.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAccurately communicates information about all benefit programs offered, including eligibility, Qualifying Life Event, CHIPRA, Medical Support Orders, and Dependent Eligibility and documentation requirements.Responsible for monthly new hire communication to Retail, Corp, and DCs.
This includes reminders to the department of Associate’s who have not yet enrolled or completed an enrollment.Assists Associates enrolling during Open Enrollment; explain benefit optionsand changes, enrollment process, required documentation for dependent documentation and Evidence of Eligibility.Processes initial intake and determination for all Qualified Medical Child Support Orders (QMCSO) for Associates.Advises Associates on eligibility, coverage, and other benefit mattersCompiles and maintains benefits records and documentsMonitor enrollment audits for both part-time and full-time benefitsPrepares, reconciles, and audits bills as directedWork with current Benefit Admin system to ensure all current policies are up to dateMonitors benefit trends in the business environment and stays abreast of applicable benefits legislationCommunicates with associates on LOA regarding eligibility for benefits during leave, premium payment process, and termination of coverage, as applicableWorks with HR partners to ensure the accurate and timely submission of life insurance claimsVerification documents and inquiries for medical support orders, STD, LTD, and Life claims, etc.Updates New Hire documentation as neededReviews all qualifying event requests for EBSA, ERISA, and CHIPRA compliance in accordance with internal policy to ensure parity and non-discriminatory practicesAssists with Open Enrollment as assignedConducts benefits orientation meetings for newly hired and newly eligible associatesWorks with other departments on special projectsPerforms other duties as assignedRegular Attendance is requiredScopeStaff supervision and Development –NoDecision Making – Provides data for decision support Travel – Less than 5%Location – Corporate HQ, Remote
