Marketplace is looking for an associate producer of social publishing.

We are the most widely heard business show in the country – on radio or TV – reaching more than 20 million people on air, online and on demand.

We’re looking for someone who can help us grow and reach more people by executing engaging and innovative social campaigns.

You must have sharp writing skills and have solid editorial judgement.

You’ll optimize the editorial content that Marketplace produces across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and emerging social platforms.

You have a strong visual design sense and know how to create content that pops in people’s social feeds.

And you’re incredibly detail oriented – you remember to fact-check and spell check before hitting that publish button.

Minimum Compensation for Los Angeles: $25.28 hourly.

Exact hourly rate determined by location, experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure and internal equity.

Position Responsibilities:
Concept and write, strategically schedule and publish content across all social channels.

Help create highly shareable, mobile-first content for social platforms.

Optimize stories for social in order to drive traffic and deepen engagement.

Monitor conversations across platforms and manage the day-to-day community management with our audience.

Collaborate closely with the head of social to ensure executions are on-strategy for brand, positioning and voice.

Stay up-to-date and ahead of the curve on social media best practices.

Use data on a regular basis to inform how and why you post.

Help cultivate and develop conversations between our audience, hosts and reporters.

Required Education and Experience:
2-3+ years experience producing content for social platforms on behalf of a brand or media outlet.

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Deep interest in how economic news intersects with people’s lives Embraces social data and isn’t afraid to use it to optimize campaigns Must have superb social copywriting & fact-checking skills Highly proficient in Photoshop A team player who is accountable, proactive, and solution-oriented Have strong instincts for content that social audiences find engaging Demonstrated success creating engaging campaigns and social posts Creative thinker and idea generator Knowledge of social media listening and reporting tools Ability to translate the Marketplace voice to social media Independent, resourceful, takes initiative and has excellent judgment Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision Ability to successfully meet deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities under pressure on a consistent basis.

Superior communication, organizational and collaborative skills Familiarity with content management systems Mature self-starter with excellent editorial judgement
