Position description
The Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Medicine-Division of Molecular Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles invites applications for an Assistant Project Scientist. The laboratory, located within the CHS and directed by Professor Hua Linda Cai, addresses research topics related to molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular pathogenesis.
The applicant should have a MD or Ph.D. degree in Biomedicine or related fields with strong expertise in molecular biology, cell biology and pathophysiology with technical proficiencies in handling of genetic strains of mice.
Several years of postdoctoral experience and productivity in research are required. The incumbent must demonstrate his/her creative contributions to research in the form of peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals. The incumbent will be responsible for contributing and conducting cutting-edge research using state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques and unique methodologies examining redox signaling and mitochondrial biology.
The incumbent is expected to work independently in the design, execution, and troubleshooting of experiments.
