Assistant Editor

We are NextShark, the largest Asian American publication that reaches up to 15 million people each week across our platforms, and we are looking for someone passionate in serving the AAPI community with the news we need to know and the content that inspires pride, positivity, and strength in our community. What do you need to have? – 2-3 years experience working in editorial – Excellent writing and copy-editing skills – Passion for telling stories – Be well-versed in journalism but open-minded to evolving the game – Interest in all things Asian/Asian American – Be willing to learn and help us grow! – Have a great sense of humor – BONUS points if you’re a morning person What will you do? – Most duties will be performed remotely, but candidate will be required to work in our Newport Beach office at least twice a week – Start early (8:00 a.m./9:00 a.m. ) to assist the EIC and help organize daily editorial agenda – Daily copy-editing and preparing articles for publication – Help oversee editing and newsletter teams – Help assigning stories to writing teams Interested?
