A Program Leader will naturally possess a positive, professional disposition to help our school sites run effectively, will be solutions-oriented, and willing to pitch in where necessary to keep our school site on track to achieve organizational goals.Essential Functions:Interact with our students daily, take attendance and manage sign-outs everydayDevelop lesson plans for enrichment activities they will leadProvide academic support by working with students through homework help or supplemental learning activitiesDemonstrate leadership and a commitment to educating and empowering youth to reach their full potentialHave the ability to work with and actively supervise a group of 20 or more studentsHave basic knowledge of age appropriate classroom and behavior management skillsBe responsible, energetic, and creative individualsParticipates in training and development; during introductory employment period and ongoing at routine staff development meetings, Leaders in Training Program, and during site reviewsOther duties as assignedRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Solid after school programming skills garnered from 1+ years of relevant experienceAbility to oversee and support students and provide constant line-of-sight supervisionAbility to work collaboratively with all levels of staffStrong, clear written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated professional attitude, approach, and commitment to integrityProven ability to solve problems, make decisions, and resolve conflictsCommitment to working toward the common goal of helping to provide experiential education to underserved young people at our various programsQualificationsQualifications:Must be fully vaccinated with the COVID-19 vaccine.Availability to work set school programming hours, including early dismissal days Experience working with studentsExperience working in after school programs or youth recreational facilitiesExperience in working with ethnic and culturally diverse communitiesDesire to work outdoors with studentsEnergetic, motivated, outgoing personalities strongly desiredExperience of marketing events to students with creativity and clarity48+ College Units completed or Pass on the CAPE examTB Test Clearance & Live Scan Clearance (Background check)Bilingual preferredCurrent CPR Certification – adult, child, and infant.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position reports directly to the Site Coordinator of the school site they are placed at. Compensation rate is dependent on regional location: Los Angeles County – $15.00 per hourRainbow/Fallbrook, CA – $15.00 per hourSan Diego County, CA – $14.25 per hour For positions being filled to fulfill return to campus vacancies, the following compensation will be used in Los Angeles County: $15.00 per hour plus $5.00 differential pay, for a total compensation of $20.00, beginning now through June 2021. Locations being staffed located in South Los Angeles, Inglewood, Culver City areas.
