DescriptionThis is a Flight Test Engineering position supporting the Medium Altitude UAS division for AFLCMC/Det 3 at Gray Butte Airfield, CA operating location.

This position may be considered for the Poway, CA site.

The ideal candidate must be fully competent in all aspects of the Test Engineering discipline in the required task area.

This position requires leadership, teamwork, a firm understanding of test and evaluation, and the ability to assess problems and workloads to adjust priorities and tasking as necessary.

The person must be capable of the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to meet program office requirements and objectives in a fluid test environment.

Must have an Active Security Clearance Essential Functions:Duties shall include providing advisory and draft documentation support for performance of all facets of flight testing, from initial planning and operations through execution, data collection, reduction and analysis, report writing and recommendations.Assist the PM in function as a Program Engineer as required for aircraft research, development, production, and lifecycle acquisition and sustainment activities.Flight test support assisting in designing top-level development test program for MQ-9 sustainment efforts, interfacing and coordinating test range requirements, resources and flight test activities.Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage assigned test-related projects within the program office integrating the participation of various elements and attendant responses from other agencies, such as other program offices, directorates and matrix organizations, DoD test agencies and major air commands is required.Work with the System Program Office to obtain required air worthiness assessment, risk analysis, and military flight release.Assist the PM by providing advisory assistance in the review of modification packages for air vehicles, GCSs, and support equipment, facilitating scheduling of unique test resources (e.G., range, weapons, etc) and long-term scheduling of flight test activities.Assist in the review of proposals for validity of flight test requirements providing direction and advice on significant requirements, approaches, and potential problem areas.Assist the PM and provide advisory/review/draft documentation support for development of Test Plans and Safety packages generated by the USAF, prime weapon system Contractor, and associated Contractors, including attendance at TPWGs and TIMs.Provide advisory/review/draft documentation support for Test Reports generated by the USAF, Prime Weapon System Contractor and associated Contractors.Interface with the 412 TW/SET for Test and Safety Plan approvals, communicate program office priorities, work daily scheduling issues, and facilitating QRC efforts.Assist the PM in interfacing with the prime weapon system Contractor(s) and subcontractors.Provide recommendations for government consideration that are designed to balance and schedule sustainment modifications.Provide advisory support for testing, recommending test priorities for government consideration, resource planning and constraints, and developing draft inputs into deficiency identification and correction.Assist the PM in working system configurations and troubleshooting to support required sorties and by assessing and/or evaluating both subjective and objective data acquired through test execution.Perform other related duties as assigned.
