Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The Advanced Practice Provider Lead is a professional with primary responsibility for oversight of Neonatl Nurse Practitioner (NP) and Physician Assistant (PA) clinical teams to provide evidence based patient care and patient/family education in the management of patients seen in the Service Line.
Clinical care responsibilities will include performing exams, ordering diagnostic and screening tests, developing plans of care, accurately documenting patient medical history and care and education and consulting with patients and families.
Supervisory responsibilities include overseeing APPs in daily operations, ensuring adherence to ethics and quality standards in the delivery of patient care by Advanced Practice Providers.
The position will collaborate with senior management and faculty on operational and performance issues and the development of new plans and programs to improve and integrate APP functions and systems across specialties, departments and throughout the medical center, including the development and implementation of APP Best Practice Models.
The position will ensure appropriate professional development opportunities are developed and implemented.
The APP lead will report to the Department Director.
Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:
5+ years of recent pediatric NNP/PA experience required.
3+ years supervisory experience required.
Previous fiscal management experience preferred.
Education/Licensure/Certification:
NP: Master’s degree from an accredited school of nursing; California RN, NP, and Furnishing licensure required.
Certification in area of specialty required.
PA: Licensure and Certification in the State of California required.
Certification as a Physician Assistant by a nationally accredited Physician Assistant organization (e.g., NCCPA or ARC-PA) is required.
A health-related Master’s degree is required.
BLS, PALS and NPR (if applicable) required.
National Certification is required
You must be willing to reside in the state of California, and have a primary work site in the state of California, to be considered for this position.
