A Place Called Home has a great opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Membership & Parent Services Assistant to utilize their skills and implement creative ways to support the mission and vision of the organization while making a difference in the community.

ABOUT USA Place Called Home is a dynamic, non-profit youth and community center in South Central Los Angeles.

APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes, fitness and health and wellness opportunities.

As youth participate in our programs, they discover interests and talents and develop a better sense of themselves and their place in the world around them.

Our goal is to increase the likelihood that youth will stay in school, pursue higher education, attain viable jobs, and become active community members capable of making positive change in the world in which they live.

Our mission is to serve youth and families directly and the optimal way to do that is in person.

The majority of our positions require employees to work onsite at our facilities.

We will always comply with or exceed government and public health safety mandates.

Under the direction of the Membership and Parent Services Senior Manager, the Membership & Parent Services Assistant implements program and agency goals, REACH objectives and agency best practices, and membership efficiencies.

The Membership Assistant provides critical customer support and acts as an interface while building relationships with families, parents, members and community..

Essential duties and responsibilities:Provides exemplary customer service and hospitality to members and familiesProvides a safe environment for members at APCH, by assisting in supervision and member dismissalProvides administrative support related to membership intake, orientation, enrollment, attendance, renewal, outreach and documentationAssists with the renewal of membership statusAssists with the facilitation of new member orientations and parent meetingsAssists in monitoring of and follow-up with members who do not meet attendance requirementsAssists in processing membership applications and all registration formsGenerate, post, and circulate flyers announcements for membership orientations and center closuresAssists in the management and presentation of class schedulesMakes phone calls and program automated phone call reminders to parentsAssist in tracking demographic information for the federal food program (CACFP / SFSP) for members participating in the program and/or tracking Title 1 schools in the service areaSupports member wide communication through the creation and update of member contact information in the software RemindSupports in updating the APCH Virtual Programs HubWorks with the Technology Education Specialist on ensuring members receive the technology necessary to participate in APCH programming.
