Trailer Mechanic

Overview: Job Overview: Atlas Van Lines is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our Atlas Terminal Company/Shop team The candidate will be responsible for repairing equipment in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and practical manner.

The Mechanic’s duties include the following: Build, rebuild, and repair all parts of truck, tractor & semi-trailer equipment as required, including lift gates and refrigeration unitsDiagnose any mechanical, electrical, or other breakdown or failureRead precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, digital multi-meters, calibrators, and other electronic diagnostic toolsTroubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the component parts and systems of the truck, truck tractor, trailer, or converter repairs Employment Type & Hours: This full-time position will consist of 40 hours per week.

Hours fall between 7:30am-4:00pm or 9:00am-5:30pm, M-F with occasional overtime on Saturdays.

Qualifications: Knowledge of metals to complete repairsKnowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA rules and regulationsExperience with TMT software is a plusGood reasoning ability and detail-orientedAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employeesValid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required)Proficient welding skills helpful but not necessary
