– $20 per hour based on skill and experience Description:A Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring that all the products are compliant with customer specifications and requirements, enforcing the company’s policies on food safety and procedures, and improving the products and processes.

QC Technicians ensure the facility is following rules and regulations set forth by the FDA, USDA, Good Manufacturing Practices, and Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures.Training will be conducted by American Kitchen Delights upon hire.Responsibilities:Pulls samples and monitors processes for our customers.Must be present in the workplace on time and demonstrate commitment, dependability, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule as determined by QA Manager.Performs quality inspections of all production lines.Maintains and calibrates the QC equipment as per the requirements.Proofread and verifies the accuracy of the information on label ingredients, nutritional’s, USDA Emblem, Special Statement, etc.

Ensures all the products are manufactured and labeled to customer’s specification and following company’s policies and procedures.Ensures that all GMP, SSOP, SQF, and AKDI’S Safety standards are in compliance.Collects, enters, and analyses data.Performs environmental swabs, collects product samples, fills out the transmittal forms according to customer’s specification/requirement, coordinates the laboratory sample pick-ups.Helps in gathering information for the investigation process of internal and customer complaints/issues.Ensures all nonconforming material is properly identified, placed in a designated location with the proper disposition.Oversees that line Supervisors are documenting all the product codes, temperatures of product cooking, cooling, color, size, smell, appearance, etc.

Performs all necessary product testing as per quality protocol and customer specification.Manages the retention samples program.Maintains records as per customer’s specifications and company procedures.Other duties as assigned.Requirements:Hygiene and cleanliness are a must.Strong attention to detail/eye for quality.Ability to read, comprehend, follow, written and verbal instruction, correspondence, memos, and SSOP, HACCAP, GMP, SDS, SQF procedures.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members.Ability to work in hot and/or cold environment (cooler/freezer)Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stoop, lift, and carry materials.Ability to work a flexible schedule as required to meet the needs of the department.Must possess adequate people skills to fulfill the requirements of the job and facilitate interactions.Must possess basic math skills.Willing to stand on feet for 8 hours and work some overtime/weekends if needed.Some previous experience in quality, sanitation, and/or food service preferred (not required).

(Good Manufacturing Practices):GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practices.

Appropriate training in personal hygiene and hygienic handling of food is provided to all food handlers at the beginning of their employment.All persons must wash their hands upon entering the production areas, before starting work, after handling contaminated materials, after breaks, and after using the restroom.Protective clothing, such as smocks must always be kept clean to prevent contamination.

Hair coverings, footwear, and gloves are necessary to the successful operation of a food manufacturing plant.

These items are necessary to maintain a sanitary atmosphere in the facility.

Any behavior which could result in contamination of food, such as eating, use of tobacco, chewing gum, or unhygienic practices such as spitting are strictly forbidden in the plant.All persons entering the production area are to remove all jewelry and any other objects which might fall into or otherwise contaminate food.

Certain jewelry, including wedding bands and medical alerts that cannot be removed, must be covered.Personal effects and street clothing are not to be kept in the production areas.

They are to be stored in a manner meant to prevent contamination in areas such as your personal locker or the cafeteria.All employees will maintain personnel hygiene standards by bathing daily, cutting fingernails, and wearing clean clothes to work.The following rules must ALWAYS be strictly followed at American Kitchen Delights:No gum or candy in the production area.No consumption of food or drink in the production area.No jewelry (earrings, nose rings, navel piercings, necklaces, watches, rings with stones).

An employee, however, may wear a wedding band without stones.No hairpins, Bobbie pins, combs, or beads can be worn.No items (such as tobacco products, pens, pencils, etc.) are to be stored in front shirt pockets.Hairnets must be worn at all times in the production area.Beard nets, if necessary, must be worn at all times in the production area.Smocks must be worn in the production area at all times.Wear sensible shoes with non-skid soles.

Lightweight, open-toe, cloth, canvas, or heel shoes are not acceptable footwear.No smoking, chewing, eating, or spitting in areas where the product is produced, stored, or otherwise exposed.

Drinking water should be stored in lockers, away from exposed food/packaging.Socks or hosiery must be worn at all times.No glass in the plant.No hats in the plant.Shorts must be, at minimum, knee-length.Fingernails must be trimmed neatly.No fingernail polish may be worn.No false eyelashes.No false fingernails.Only earplugs with string may be worn.No spitting AT ALL.Personal hygiene must be kept up at all times.

(Shower every day)Cover small cuts or abrasions with a blue band-aid provided by American Kitchen.

All Band-Aids must be covered by either a glove or a medical wrap.Hands must be washed after eating, using the restroom, and when entering the production area.Armguards must be worn at all times when working inside mixing bowls.Clean smocks of the appropriate color must be worn at all times.Torn smocks must be replaced.Smocks may not be worn outside.Always remove your smock before entering the restroom for any reason.Latex gloves are to be worn at all times when handling food.Disposable gloves and similar items should be changed after each break, upon re-entry into the processing area, and when damaged.

Non-disposable aprons and gloves shall be cleaned and sanitized as required and when not in use stored in designated areas to avoid the risk of cross-contamination.No exterior doors are to be left open for any period of time.All personal belongings (personal effects, street clothing, etc.) must be kept in your assigned locker.Personal lockers must be kept clean and odor-free (no food in lockers).
