Technician

Target candidates have electromechanical background, associated degree is preferred.

Experience with PLC and/or LabVIEW would be great.

Position Summary: position is responsible for performing vehicle tests, vehicle maintenance on test equipment including heavy trucks, and supporting data acquisition testing.

In addition to performing test assignments, the successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing results, developing conclusions based on results and making recommendations.

Independently evaluates problems or opportunities, identifies solutions and applies standard engineering analysis tools to evaluate and select solutions.

Essential Functions: Provide the necessary technical expertise to schedule, plan and implement a development installation or test program.

Train group personnel in the application or use of the product, system or specialty.

Develop new test set-ups and procedures.

Provide assistance to the customer or vendor on the product, system or specialty.

Support other activities (Field Service, Purchasing, Quality and Reliability) in the field of expertise.

Perform complex inspections, installations, and assembly.

Complete new inspections, installations, and assemblies previously not performed.

Train others in installation, inspections, and assembly.

Accompany Engineering management as a consultant on the field of expertise to external customers.

Define, create, and document complex tests and test set-ups.

Specify the necessary equipment and parts to operate, analyze, or test the particular product, system or specialty.

Implement process improvements.

Perform analysis on complex data sets and generating meaningful presentations of the data.

Make recommendations and identify additional testing needs.

Provide significant product improvement / product issue resolution solutions.

Create new work instructions.

Assist in presentations of data for customer review.

Analyze task requirements, plan, and schedule activities.

Determine resources and time necessary to complete complex tasks.

Assist in directing and leading temporary help.

Interface with outside customers as needed by planning and scheduling of necessary events, i.e.

field installations.

Resolve test issues by obtaining team member input and consensus.

Minimal supervision and directional guidance is all that is required.

Serve as a lead person to other technicians in a particular product or skill area.

Develop relationships with outside customers.

Provide technical input for product engineering.

Considered leader in a particular product, field, or skill.

Knowledge: Knowledge base of most tasks performed in the lab environment and requires limited guidance from engineering resources.

Knowledge of Solenoid operated valves.

Broad and extensive knowledge base of products associated within the engineering group.

Skills: Machining -precision mill and lathe Data Acquisition -DASYLab or LabVIEW Possesses good training skills.

Education: Tech 3: Associate degree in Engineering Technology preferred 7-11 years’ experience is required.

Tech 4: Associate degree in Engineering Technology with 12 years’ experience is required.
