The Surgical Technician assists the Surgical Team in providing high quality health care to the patient that requires surgical intervention. He/she applies basic knowledge of aseptic technique, principles of sterilization and understanding of the purpose and use of instruments. Qualifications Qualifications: Requires a minimum of two (2) to three (3) years scrubbing experience in General, GYN, Ortho and GI. High school graduate preferred. BLS certified required. Surgical Technician certification preferred. Familiar with the different surgical equipment and instrumentation and its functions. Requires close concentration and high degree of accuracy and organization to prepare, set up and assists on surgical procedures. This position is represented by SEIU.
