As a Maintenance Mechanic for AMVAC, you will maintain and repair the manufacturing equipment and machinery to keep this busy chemical plant operating at optimum performance and insure compliance with safety, regulatory and plant guidelines.
The Job: Install, repair, maintain, adjust and overhaul the plant’s manufacturing equipment including pumps, gearboxes, centrifuges, pipe fittings and more Operate power tools, hand tools, drills, grinders, cutters & other equipment safely Operate forklift to move equipment and loads to work area Utilize mechanical skills including fabrication, erection, cutting, drilling, fitting and assembly of pipes and other equipment Install, dismantle, repair and assemble complex equipment and diagnose complex equipment failures Work on ladders, scaffolds and in pits Operate pipe-threading machine Work safely with and around toxic and corrosive chemicals wearing proper safety equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, chemical resistant suit, dust mask, rubber gloves, respirator, safety boots, rain protection gear, apron and other equipment as required Skills & Requirements: 3 years experience as a Maintenance Mechanic in a busy, manufacturing plant HS Diploma / GED required; advanced related training / education preferred Able to perform basic math calculations, read diagrams (blueprints & P&IDs) and instructions Knowledge of various mechanics tools, inspection gauges and power tools such as grinders, cutters, drills Excellent communication skills, speaking and listening, and ability to follow instructions Comply with both oral and written safety procedures and policies Be able to function in a crisis situation under direction of Lead operator or supervisor in case of emergency which may involve flammable, corrosive and/or highly toxic chemicals.
Must pass post-offer drug test, background check and other appropriate testing as required.
