HVAC III- Environmental Chamber Technician

Job Description Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site.

This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

As a HVAC III, this role would be responsible for reactive and preventative maintenance on engineering and operation environmental chambers.

Responsible for the electrical, mechanical, heating and refrigeration parts of this equipment.

Works from prints, handbooks and on-line documentation to analyze and restore malfunctioning environmental equipment.

Able to repair/ replace electric motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans using special tools and equipment such as staging, hoists and rigging.

Use of pressure and vacuum gauges, leak detection fluids to inspect and repair refrigerant gas leaks and add gases when necessary to the original manufacture recommended operating pressures.

Use of digital multimeters/ clamp on Amp meters to inspect and troubleshoot HVAC electrical circuits, electric motors, fuses and relays.

Performs preventative maintenance on environmental systems, documenting the work performed and what was replaced and/or repaired.

Good communication skills with co-workers and management about work being performed.

Submits material requisitions and/or appropriate information for the repair or replacement of parts to repair equipment.

Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedure.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills US Citizen, Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire).

High School and Trade School diploma/ certificate or its equivalent.

Universal HVAC Certification.

EPA Universal Certification (Class IV) for the proper use of refrigerants.

Minimum of (2) years of commercial/ industrial experience in the HVAC trade is required.

Requires lifting loads of up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills Experience handling refrigerants, brazing and welding of connections.

Ability to work independently and with other members of a team.

Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of manufacturing and processing equipment.

Knowledge of heating and cooling environmental chambers with cascade systems.

Possess good electrical, mechanical, plumbing, analytical, and overall troubleshooting skills.
