Position Overview:

This entry level Environmental Field Technician position involves conducting air emissions testing for industrial clients. A candidate must be willing to work outdoors or in industrial environments through a teamwork-based approach as a part of a test crew. The candidate must have the ability to travel on a weekly basis in a company vehicle, visiting customer sites to perform testing projects. Travel is regional & within the state, requiring overnight hotel stay as needed. The environment will include the ability to work with heights on a platform, climbing smoke stacks of varying heights (50ft-300ft). A candidate will support the basic aspects of a testing project including equipment preparation, deployment, staging/breakdown, sample collection and recovery.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Safety and DOT Compliance: Successfully adheres to Health and Safety Program Manual, follows all DOT requirements as trained to do so, Proper use of Electronic Logging Device (ELD)
  • Conduct on-site field testing
  • Equipment and Mobile Lab Cleaning
  • Testing Glassware Preparation and Quality Assurance
  • Assist in equipment mobilizations and demobilizations
  • Follow current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of equipment, maintenance programs and other policies
  • Ensure the company is represented in a professional manner while at customer sites and in the office
  • Follow all test methods, procedures, and processes as trained to do so for quality source testing
  • Submit reports, technical data, time sheets and project expense reports
  • Apply sound Mechanical and Electrical skills while troubleshooting testing systems

Minimum Requirements:


Education
– Must have High School Diploma. AS or BS degree preferred (Science and Engineering related fields ideal)


Experience
–Individuals with a background and experience related to environmental response/sample collection, mechanical, construction, and electrical work fields (contractors), are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience with or strong aptitude to learn the use of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) & Abode Products and tools/equipment, requiring a high degree of dexterity.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Good verbal communication skills (Internally and with Clients and Regulators) with professional appearance and behavior. Maintain positive attitude with ability to work well in groups and desire to achieve goals and grow into higher positions of leadership. Ability to work safely in a work and office environment, operate an Aerial Lift from the platform or deck and willingness to work at elevated heights on stack platforms, the proper safety gear and PPE will be provided and utilized to complete all jobs safely and efficiently.

Certifications – Valid driver’s license


Physical Requirements
– Flexibility to work 40+ hour week as well as some nights and weekends. Consistent standing or walking, bending, crouching or stooping, climbing ladders and/or stairs, frequent lifting of objects weighing up to 75 pounds. Distinguish between shades of color.
