What We Need:

We are currently seeking a Wireless Technician Apprentice to join our team!

This is an apprenticeship program in which Telamon will hire and train inexperienced employees in designing, building and installing telecommunications networks.

This is a paid apprenticeship program with the goal of fast tracking employees from an apprentice to a more experienced technician over the course of the program.

The training will include a combination of classroom activities and hands on training.

Upon successful completion of the first level training, the apprentices advance to a Wireless Technician Level 1 and will be paired with Sr.

Wireless Technician mentor to gain on the job experience.

Under the close supervision of an Sr.

Wireless Technician, the apprentice will perform activities associated with designing, building and installing telecommunications networks in the field.

Classification: Non-exempt/Hourly

Pay: Starts at $17/hr up to $28/hr in 2 years

Must be able to start on the date below:
April 18th with training in Whitestown, IN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, maintain, test, repair, remove or retrofit various wireless systems including rooftop macro, pole mount macro and small cells, indoor distributed antenna systems (IDAS) and outdoor distributed antenna systems (ODAS)
Read blueprints and construction drawings
Determine and pull best path routes
Adhere to coax and fiber installation standards
PPC compression tool kit installation
Installation of antennas including rooftop, racks, and remote units
DAS and small cell OEM installation
Label coax cables, antennas and headends
Perform cable sweeps using spectrum analyzers for return loss, insertion loss, and distance to fault testing
Perform PIM testing and mitigation on cellular equipment
Fusion splice fiber modes and connectors
Use OTDR for fiber reports and troubleshoot links
Operate a lift and/or bucket truck
Assist engineers and management on various tasks as needed
Conducts all assignments, activities, and communications in a professional manner when dealing with co-workers, supervisors and customers
Travel/Shift Requirements:
Travel away from home for several weeks may be required on demand (Will be able to be home on weekends)
Shift work required on demand
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to work outdoors, on ladders, and in confined spaces
Ability to work with/around electrical wires and/or ESD products
Ability to work remotely at construction or installation sites
Manual dexterity
Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, squat, climb, lift, pull and push
Skills and Abilities Required:
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documentation
Aptitude and interest in technology
Problem solving
Ability to communicate well
Excellent Attention to Detail
Proficiency with a computer and MS Office
Education and Experience Required:

High School Diploma or equivalency
